W.I.S.E. Youth

    (Ways to Inspire Self-Empowerment in Youth)

is a partnership between positive mentors and interested adolescents to motivate, stimulate, and develop personal awareness, self esteem, necessary skills for self-advocacy and empowerment. Through our creative and introspective group/individual activities, each youth is offered the opportunity to become an essential part of the program as well as to develop the knowledge and skills that can be applied to their daily lives. We will facilitate the journey to the ways of knowing self by aiming to promote proper decision-making; opposition to high-risk behaviors and suggesting active alternatives to improve lives as well as to redirect negativity. Broadening their definitions and perceptions that mainstream society has imposed; we will encourage youth to express themselves freely through the arts and humanities. This program will adhere to the standards of a safe and supportive environment where their voices are heard and their individual strengths are nurtured.

 

 

 

• We are dedicated to providing a healthy, creative environment that appeals to the individual attributes of students.
•  We believe that the youth of today can acquire the identity and self-awareness essential for success,through the arts and humanities,
• We believe that the essence of being human is captured through the arts in a way that facilitates personal growth.
• We intend to build a curriculum that lays the foundation for dreams to be fulfilled
• We believe that through positive enforcement as well as acknowledging individual attributes helps to establish the development of teen self-esteem.
• We believe that by providing an accessible outlet to channel adolescent energy and creativity, teens can acquire a sense of self-worth and expression without strugglinthrough self-doubt and lack of focus.
• We believe that expression is essential to the development of the individual, providing insight to their goals and a way in which to achieve them. Our goal is to facilitate these things in an effort to aid youth in their path to wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
